4 Days Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary Safari | Samburu Lodge Tour

This 4 days lodge safari takes to the Sweetwaters Game Reserve which is 110,000-acre private ranch with magnificent views across the plains to the snow capped peaks of Mount Kenya. This game sanctuary is the closest reserve to Nairobi (About 3 hours drive) home to all the big five game, and has the highest ratio of game-to-area of any park or reserve in Kenya. Its popular waterhole is floodlit by night, providing excellent and secluded rarely seen game viewing.
Samburu found on the Northern frontier ok Kenya is a semi-desert and have the most unique species of Animals e.g Gerunuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Gravy Zebra and Somali Ostrich with plenty of plain game.

During your 4 days tour you will have Game drives and optional game walks accompanied by a Resident Naturalist at a cost, or game rides on horseback. Camel riding, night game drives and "bush" lunches or dinners are a delight. The Chimpanzee Sanctuary is most informative and entertaining and should all be visited while in the Game Reserve. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is incorporated within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and is the only place in Kenya where this highly endangered and remarkably intelligent species can be seen.
Samburu Game Reserve is not very noted, but definitely worth a visit. It is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Kenya. This means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like Elephants, Lions, Giraffes and Zebras from the surrounding Savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted. The Reserve is not too crowded - a huge plus in Kenya where so many reserves are often overflowing with tourists.

Day 1: Nairobi – Sweetwaters Game Reserve/Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Depart Nairobi and proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Sweetwaters land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi. We visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of Black Rhino with its stunning forty specimens! In fact Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya.
